Are you an experienced leader with the ability to drive operational excellence, quality, capability development, and large-scale organisational performance in a highly regulated environment? Do you thrive in complex matrix organisations where balancing operational delivery, strategic transformation, and stakeholder collaboration is critical for success? If so, you may be the new Sr. Director QC DK Materials & Device Analytics at Novo Nordisk.

The position

As Sr. Director QC DK Materials & Device Analytics, you will lead one of the Danish QC Units within Global Quality Control, overseeing a large and complex organisation that supports analytical testing and laboratory services for raw materials, packaging materials, devices, and physical characterisation across multiple manufacturing sites and laboratory locations in Denmark.

You will:

  • Lead the strategic direction, operational performance, and long-term development of the QC DK Materials & Device Analytics organisation.
  • Ensure reliable, predictable, and compliant QC operations while maintaining strong GMP compliance, inspection readiness, quality performance, and laboratory safety.
  • Build a scalable and flexible QC organisation that can effectively utilise capacity, specialised capabilities, and resources across multiple laboratory locations and manufacturing sites.
  • Drive standardisation, simplification, and continuous improvement across analytical workflows, laboratory operations, and support services.
  • Strengthen Materials & Device analytical capabilities by ensuring the organisation has the competencies, technologies, and technical robustness required to support current and future business needs.
  • Lead the development and delivery of shared laboratory services, ensuring efficient, compliant, and scalable support across the Danish QC network.
  • Advance operational excellence through data-driven decision-making, automation, digitalisation, AI adoption, and productivity improvements in collaboration with QC Business Operations.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, ASAT, QC Network Management, and peer Operational QC Units to optimise performance across the entire Global QC network.
  • Lead and develop a large organisation of approximately 200-300 employees through multiple leadership layers, building a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
  • Contribute actively as a member of the Global Quality Control Leadership Team, helping shape the future direction and performance of Global QC.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, we expect you to bring strong operational leadership experience combined with the ability to navigate complex organisations and drive strategic transformation.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Significant senior leadership experience leading large operational organisations through leaders and multiple organisational layers.
  • Experience from GMP-regulated laboratory, Quality, Manufacturing, or similar highly regulated environments.
  • A strong track record of delivering operational excellence, productivity improvements, and organisational performance.
  • Experience leading change, transformation, and capability-building initiatives across complex organisations.
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to balance operational priorities with long-term strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated success working across global matrix organisations and managing a broad range of senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with regulatory inspections, compliance requirements, and quality management systems.
  • Excellent collaboration, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to influence beyond formal authority.
  • A master’s degree or equivalent within Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering, Chemistry, or another relevant scientific discipline.
About the department

QC DK Materials & Device Analytics is one of three Danish Operational QC Units within Global Quality Control. The organisation delivers analytical testing and laboratory services supporting raw materials, packaging materials, devices, and physical characterisation across multiple products, manufacturing sites, and laboratory locations.

The organisation is designed around capability clusters and shared laboratory services, enabling expertise, infrastructure, and resources to be utilised across the broader Danish QC network rather than being tied to individual manufacturing sites. This allows the organisation to support future growth, improve productivity, and drive greater standardisation and scalability across operations.

As Sr. Director QC DK Materials & Device Analytics, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Global QC by strengthening operational performance, building organisational capabilities, and helping create a more integrated and agile quality control network across Novo Nordisk.
