Role Overview

We are looking for a Test & Software Validation Engineer to support a leading organisation within the medical device and diagnostics industry.

The role will focus on the software validation of LabVIEW-based test programmes and test equipment used within a regulated manufacturing environment.

This is not a pure software development position. While a strong working knowledge of LabVIEW is essential, the primary focus will be on software validation, testing and documentation, ensuring existing test programmes and equipment meet defined quality and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform software validation of LabVIEW-based test programmes and test equipment
  • Develop, execute and maintain validation protocols, test documentation and validation reports
  • Support the validation of systems incorporating both software and electronic hardware
  • Review existing LabVIEW programmes to understand functionality and support effective validation activities
  • Execute testing and document results in accordance with internal quality and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain compliant software validation documentation within the quality system
  • Support change control and revalidation activities relating to existing test programmes and equipment
  • Document and support the investigation of deviations or issues identified during validation testing
  • Work closely with electronics, manufacturing engineering, quality and R&D stakeholders
  • Support wider test equipment and equipment validation activities where required
  • Contribute to process validation and IQ/OQ/PQ activities where applicable
  • Hands-on experience working with LabVIEW, ideally within test, measurement or automated test environments
  • Strong experience in software validation
  • Experience producing and executing validation protocols and associated documentation
  • Understanding of test programmes, test systems or test equipment
  • Experience working with systems incorporating software and electronics/hardware
  • Experience within a regulated engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to understand existing LabVIEW applications without requiring significant technical training
