Job summary

Flatpay in Copenhagen is hiring a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain online commerce and payments platforms. You will build merchant- and customer-facing features, APIs, and services, taking ownership from design to deployment.

You’ll work across backend and frontend, with Java/Spring Boot, MySQL, TypeScript, React, and cloud technologies, collaborating with product managers and other engineers to deliver real customer value.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating production systems.
• Comfortable working across modern backend and cloud technologies.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
• Curious, pragmatic, and eager to learn.
• Enjoy taking ownership and solving real customer problems.
• Experience with payments, e-commerce, SaaS platforms, or fintech is a plus.

Online is one of Flatpay's newest and most strategic engineering domains. We're building the products and platforms that enable merchants to accept payments online and grow their businesses in the digital economy. As a Software Engineer, you'll help build and launch new products, contribute to technical discussions and decisions, and scale solutions as adoption grows across new markets.

This is a unique opportunity to join at an early stage. While Flatpay already serves merchants at scale, our online platform is still in its early stages. You'll have the opportunity to help launch new solutions, shape how the platform evolves as adoption grows, and learn directly from customers along the way.
