Do you want to write code that genuinely matters when it counts the most? As a Senior Software Developer at Systematic, you will help build mobile software that gives field commanders real-time situational awareness - software that has to work under pressure, on devices in the field, when there is no room for confusion.
You will join the Mobile programme, which develops software for mounted and dismounted commanders in the field. The solutions run on vehicles and handheld devices, implement resilient network protocols so frontline units share a common operational picture, and expose APIs that let customers integrate sensors and drones.
You will work across a full-stack codebase with a frontend in Angular and a backend in Java, troubleshooting and solving complex problems while shaping new features in close collaboration with domain experts, a UX designer, and a software architect. As a senior developer, you will go beyond day-to-day delivery to help shape the technical direction of the solution over time - contributing to architectural and maintainability improvements, and supporting your colleagues through code reviews and technical sparring. You will also play a key role in strengthening the team's engineering practices and ways of working.
You will be part of a small, focused scrum team based in Aarhus - currently three developers, a tester, and an architect, spanning a range of experience levels that makes for genuine knowledge-sharing in both directions. The team is part of a larger Mobile programme spanning seven scrum teams across Denmark and Romania, giving you access to a broad community of colleagues while still working in a setting where your contributions are visible and valued. The team has worked together for three years and has built a collaborative, open culture where ideas and feedback are actively encouraged.
We are looking for someone with a bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering or a related field, and solid, hands-on experience from a professional software development team. What matters most to us is that you can navigate and take ownership of complex tasks in an existing codebase, and that you understand how to design and structure software beyond just making it work.
Experience with Java and Angular is a strong advantage, since it is what we work with day to day - but it is not a must. If you come from another strongly typed, object-oriented language such as C#, and are motivated to make the jump to Java, that is very welcome too. Furthermore, you...
