Job summary

Orsted is seeking a Short-Term Gas Trader to contribute to the European gas portfolio through intraday and day-ahead trading, balancing the portfolio and creating value.

You will monitor short-term strategies, collaborate with colleagues across functions, and help advance automation and digitalisation to improve operations and analytics in a dynamic, 24/7 market environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in energy markets, preferably gas, commodities, or related commercial environment.
• Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into trading decisions.

You’ll be part of the Short-Term Gas Trading team where you, together with your colleagues, will provide the route to market for our European gas portfolio. The team executes trading strategies, and captures opportunities across short-term gas markets. Working closely with specialists across the business, you'll contribute to value creation while helping ensure reliable operations and effective risk management.

You'll play an important role in:

• trading intraday and day-ahead gas markets across Europe to balance the portfolio and create value
• optimising the value of flexible assets and positions within our gas portfolio
• monitoring, developing, and executing short-term trading strategies
• improving our operational and analytical capabilities through automation and digitalisation
• collaborating with colleagues across functions to support trading, balancing, and portfolio optimisation activities
• participating in a 24/7 shift rotation covering all days of the year.

To succeed in the role, you:

• bring experience from energy markets, ideally within gas, commodities, financial markets, or a related commercial environment
• enjoy analysing data and using insights to make well-informed decisions
• collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders in an international environment
• take ownership of your work while actively contributing to team success
• remain focused and adaptable in fast-changing market conditions
