Join DTU Compute's Dynamical Systems section as Senior Officer – EU Research & Innovation. You'll coordinate complex Horizon Europe projects in the energy sector, support grant acquisition, and connect our section with the wider department.

The job

You are an experienced project professional who is comfortable running complex, international EU projects and who understands the energy sector well enough to be a credible partner to both researchers and industry. Just as importantly, you act as a connector a link between our Dynamical Systems section and the wider DTU Compute department, and you help the team turn ideas into funded projects.

Our expectations of you

We expect that you have:

  • A relevant degree (e.g. engineering, energy, environmental science, business, social science or similar) and at least 10 years' experience managing or coordinating research and innovation projects, with a track record of leading projects end to end.
  • Hands‑on experience with EU‑funded projects, ideally Horizon Europe or Horizon 2020, including large multi‑partner consortia you know how the framework works in practice (Grant Agreement, Annex 1, reporting periods, deliverables and milestones, consortium agreements, and the demands of working with EU funding bodies).
  • A solid understanding of the energy and electricity sector, power grids, renewable energy integration, flexibility and system operation, enough to follow the technical work, brief partners accurately, and represent the project convincingly to external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to support grant and proposal writing, structuring and coordinating contributions from multiple partners, drafting and editing text, and helping turn ideas into fundable proposals.
  • A talent for ideation and grant acquisition, you spark and shape new project ideas together with the team, spot relevant funding opportunities, and help build the proposals and partnerships that win them.
  • The ability to act as a bridge between the Dynamical Systems section and the rest of DTU Compute connecting people, aligning efforts across groups, and making sure knowledge, opportunities and good practice flow both ways.
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder‑management skills, you can drive a consortium forward, chair and organise meetings, manage timelines and dependencies, and keep partners engaged and accountable.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly with academic, industrial and public‑sector partners.
  • A structured, proactive and independent working style, combined with the diplomacy needed to navigate different partner interests and internal stakeholders alike, and to reach workable solutions.

It will be considered an advantage if you also have:

  • Experience in a coordinator role (rather than only as a partner) on an EU project.
  • Familiarity with EU reporting and financial tools (e.g. the Funding & Tenders Portal, SyGMa, cost reporting and timesheets).
  • Knowledge of the Danish or wider Nordic energy landscape, or of the grid/TSO–DSO context.
  • Experience working in or alongside a university or research organisation.
  • Additional language skills, particularly Danish or another European language.

Salary and appointment terms

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. In addition, supplements can be negotiated in accordance with DTU’s salary structure for scientific staff: www.inside.dtu.dk/en/human-resources/during-employment/salary/salary-structures.

The period pf employment is 3 years. The position is a full-time position. Preferred starting date is 1 November 2026 or according to mutual agreement.
