Job summary

Novo Nordisk seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to turn models and AI prototypes into reliable, secure production services in R&D. You will design, deploy and operate ML, generative AI and agent-based apps on Databricks, AWS and Azure, setting engineering practices for dependable tools used daily.

You will lead design discussions, own production systems end to end and mentor teammates, while ensuring compliance with data privacy, security and governance policies across the organization.

Qualifications

• A degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically, 5+ years in machine learning engineering or related fields with ownership of production ML systems and measurable outcomes.
• Strong hands-on Databricks experience including Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, MLflow and production pipelines.
• Strong practical knowledge of AWS and Azure for deploying ML workloads, plus Git, CI/CD, containers and infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
• Experience across MLOps, LLMOps, AgentOps and DataOps from training to governance, with reproducible pipelines and data contracts.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with frameworks like scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow and building LLM apps with embeddings and tool calling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy and maintain ML models, LLM applications and AI agents, including batch and real-time inference integrated into business apps.
• Build training, evaluation, deployment and monitoring workflows with Databricks and MLflow; operate ML infrastructure on AWS and Azure with balance of performance, reliability and cost.
• Establish MLOps, LLMOps, AgentOps and DataOps practices covering versioning, testing, rollback, safety controls and data governance.
• Monitor model quality, data drift, latency, availability and cost; investigate failures and define evaluation criteria linking technical quality to business outcomes.
• Lead technical design discussions, review code, mentor engineers and document operational procedures to raise engineering standards.
