Job summary

LEGO Group in Billund seeks a Senior Manager - Next-Gen Pre-Pack Counting Lead to own the counting technology roadmap and define future architecture for automated packing. You will lead specialist teams across R&D, production sites and suppliers to deliver scalable counting solutions.

You will shape the equipment architecture, drive safe and efficient production, and align interfaces with project leaders and automation partners. This role requires travel and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or technical degree in mechanical/marine engineering or automation.
• Significant automation experience in high-volume production.
• Strong data-driven decision making and analytical skills.
• Experience applying LEAN to reliable, scalable production.
• Proven cross-functional leadership with R&D, suppliers, and production sites.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

Then make it real.** Join the R&D Pre-Pack Next Gen team, where we're developing advanced technologies and processes that will transform packing operations and help unlock up to a five-fold increase in output per square metre. This is a Senior Manager position based in Billund. Relocation isn't offered for this role.# **About the role**As our new Senior Manager - Next-Gen Pre-Pack Counting Lead, you'll shape counting technology within the LEGO Group’s Next Generation Packing Equipment programme. You'll own the roadmap for our future counting technology and define the future of this technical area. Combining deep automation insight, element insights with a broader systems perspective, you'll advance solutions that improve precision, scalability, and efficiency. You'll also shape the equipment architecture, aligning interfaces, specifications, and performance requirements across connected systems.# **Required Qualifications*** Educational background within mechanical/marine engineering, automation or gained equivalent technical experience.* Extensive experience and deep functional expertise in automation within high-volume production or mass-manufacturing environments, with high focus on innovation and quality.* Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.* Delivered operational excellence using LEAN principles to create reliable, scalable, and efficient production solutions.* Proven functional leadership skills in collaborating with R&D teams, suppliers, and production sites to qualify and implement new manufacturing technologies.* Strong communication skills being fluent written and verbally in English.# **Preferred Qualifications*** Experience with SAP and sustainability initiatives.* Ability to mentor and develop talent, fostering continuous learning.* Strong networking skills and industry connections.# **What you'll build*** Create and maintain the counting technology roadmap to meet the full LEGO element portfolio.* Define how LEGO elements will be counted efficiently, reliably, and at scale.* Shape the equipment architecture and reduce interface risks between connected subsystems.* Lead specialist teams and own workstream scope, quality, timing, and cost.* Gather requirements and align specifications with project leaders, platform owners, automation partners, suppliers, and production stakeholders.* Ensure new elements and product innovations can be handled by future counting technologies.* Develop concepts and prototypes, test performance, and confirm technical feasibility.* Define operating concepts, installation plans, workflows, and manufacturing-readiness requirements.* Ensure maintainability, scalability, workplace safety, environmental compliance, and alignment with the LEGO Group’s standards.* Travel approximately four to six weeks annually to collaborate with partners, suppliers, and production sites.If you've qualified and have implemented automated equipment in high-volume production, you'll feel at home here.
