Job summary

Epta Denmark is seeking a Senior Business Controller to help management and operational leaders understand performance and identify opportunities using reliable financial insight.

The role covers budgeting, forecasting, reporting, business partnering, process automation, VAT reporting, and collaboration across the Epta Group to drive value for Denmark.

Qualifications

• 5+ years within FP&A, business controlling, or corporate finance
• Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities
• Budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting expertise
• Experience from an international company or group structure
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Admin
• Fluency in Danish and English
• Minimum 3 years' hands-on SAP experience; Power BI/Tableau is an advantage

We are looking for an ambitious and business-oriented Senior Business Controller who wants to go beyond spreadsheets and reporting and become a trusted financial sparring partner for managers and stakeholders across the organisation.

You will join Epta Denmark, one of Denmark's leading providers of commercial refrigeration and cooling solutions. We are approximately 120 colleagues located across Køge and Viborg, working with sales, project execution, installation, service, and aftersales support for customers throughout Denmark.

As part of the international Epta Group, we help supermarkets, convenience stores, and food industry customers create efficient and sustainable cooling solutions. Our business combines technical expertise, commercial understanding, project execution, and nationwide service operations.

Your role

As Senior Business Controller you will help management and operational leaders understand performance, identify opportunities, and make sound business decisions based on reliable financial insight.

You will work closely with the Country Finance Manager, managers across the business, and colleagues throughout the Epta Group.

Your responsibilities will include:

Financial Planning & Forecasting

• Supporting annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes.
• Developing financial models, scenarios, and business cases.
• Supporting long-term planning and performance improvement initiatives.
• Supporting the organisation to understand the financial impact of business decisions before they are made.

Business Performance & Reporting

• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting.
• Monitoring financial and operational KPIs.
• Analysing profitability, gross margins, productivity, and cost development.
• Translating financial data into clear recommendations for managers and stakeholders.

Business Partnering

• Acting as a financial sparring partner for managers across the organisation.
• Building a deep understanding of customers, operations, projects, and service activities.
• Challenging assumptions and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Supporting business leaders with fact-based decision making.

Process Improvement & Digitalisation

• Improving reporting, planning, and forecasting processes.
• Supporting automation and digitalisation initiatives within Finance.
• Identifying smarter ways of working through data, technology, and AI.
• Contributing to increased transparency and better data quality.

Finance Operations Support

• Supporting VAT reconciliations and Intrastat reporting.
• Following up on selected finance processes and external service providers.
• Collaborating closely with Accounting and operational teams to ensure reliable and accurate reporting.

What you bring

We imagine that you have:

• At least 5 years of experience within FP&A, Business Controlling, Corporate Finance, or a similar role.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities.
• Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Experience from an international company or group structure.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Fluency in Danish and English, both written and spoken.
• A minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience with SAP is required. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting and analytics tools is considered an advantage.
