Job summary

JBT Marel in Aarhus, Denmark, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Embedded / Industrial Systems) to design and develop high-performance embedded software for advanced food processing equipment. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical and systems engineers to cover the full lifecycle.

Responsibilities include end-to-end feature ownership, system-level thinking, and delivering robust, deterministic software for long-lifecycle products within a Scrum team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Strong experience with modern C++ in embedded and industrial software systems.
• Solid background in Linux-based embedded platforms, including cross-compilation, build systems and deployment pipelines.
• Experience developing software close to hardware, devices or machines.
• Strong understanding of real-time, deterministic behaviour, performance and reliability in production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded and industrial software primarily in modern C++.
• Develop software close to hardware, machines, and devices for robust performance.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features from concept to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with software, hardware and systems engineers in a Scrum environment.
• Mentor colleagues through code reviews and technical guidance.
