Job summary

3Shape A/S is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Developer Experience team in Copenhagen. You will shape and operate tooling and platforms used by engineers across Product Creation, focusing on automation, self-service capabilities, and modern engineering standards.

You will collaborate with developers, architects, and security specialists to modernize software delivery, migrate to GitHub Actions, and improve security and observability of CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, or similar areas.
• Strong hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and building reliable automation.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with VMware vSphere or similar virtualization.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve GitHub Actions workflows and reusable CI/CD components across the organization.
• Help teams migrate from TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, and Azure DevOps to GitHub Actions for modern delivery.
• Improve the reliability, observability, and security of CI/CD workflows.
• Define and support GitHub repository standards, templates, permissions, and governance.
• Support the adoption of GitHub Copilot with governance and guidance for teams.
• Enable better use of Developer Experience tools by resolving issues and sharing best practices.
• Maintain and improve services running on VMware vSphere or similar platforms.
• Integrate security tools and practices into the SDLC.

As part of our Platform Engineering department, the Developer Experience team is responsible for improving how software is built, tested, deployed, and maintained across Product Creation, our R&D organization.

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer who is passionate about developer productivity, engineering excellence, and making it easier for software teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Ultimately, you will help shape and operate the tooling and platforms used by engineers across Product Creation.

The role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer in the Developer Experience team, you will play a key role in modernizing and standardizing software delivery practices across Product Creation. You will work closely with development teams, architects, engineering leaders, and security specialists to create a seamless development experience built around automation, self-service capabilities, and modern engineering standards. Your role will be within developer experience, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, engineering enablement and security.

What you'll do

• Develop, maintain, and improve shared GitHub Actions workflows and reusable CI/CD components used across the organization.
• Help teams migrate from TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, and Azure DevOps to GitHub Actions, making software delivery more modern, consistent, and maintainable.
• Improve the reliability, observability, and security of CI/CD workflows, including better monitoring, troubleshooting, and guardrails.
• Define and support GitHub repository standards, templates, permissions, and best practices so teams have a well‑governed foundation for source control and delivery.
• Support the adoption and practical use of GitHub Copilot, including enablement, governance, and guidance for engineering teams.
• Enable better use of the tools and services owned by the Developer Experience team by resolving issues, improving workflows, and sharing good practices.
• Maintain and improve selected services running on vSphere virtualization platforms.
• Work with the team to integrate security tools and practices into the software development lifecycle.

What we're looking for

• You are an experienced DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or CI/CD specialist who enjoys improving developer productivity and helping engineering teams succeed.
• You bring at least 5 years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, developer tooling, or similar areas. You have strong hands‑on experience with GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD platforms, including building reliable, reusable automation and improving observability and security.
• You are comfortable with GitHub repositories, source control practices, branching strategies, permissions, templates, and repository governance. You have strong troubleshooting skills, communicate clearly, and enjoy working with many different development teams.
• You have experience with Microsoft Azure or cloud‑native development practices, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and platform engineering concepts. Experience with VMware vSphere or similar virtualization platforms is also relevant.
• You are proactive, take ownership, and are comfortable working in an agile environment with many stakeholders. Professional proficiency in English is expected.
• You have experience with GitHub Copilot or other AI‑assisted development tools, or a strong interest in applying them to improve engineering workflows.

Additional experience that would be valuable

Experience with security solutions and practices that protect against software supply chain attacks would be highly relevant. This could include Software Composition Analysis, dependency governance, vulnerability scanning, secret scanning, SAST, DAST, code scanning, or similar security and quality tooling.
