Job summary

DTU Physics seeks a Special Consultant to complete advanced CV-QKD security-evaluation activities in collaboration with European partners. You will develop methodologies, finish test stations, plan measurements, and automate data processing while writing detailed reports.

The role requires a strong background in CV-QKD security, independent work style, and excellent English. The appointment is time-limited and funded under AC TAP, starting 1 October 2026.

Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD in physics, electrical engineering, photonics, quantum technology or related field.
  • Extensive and documented knowledge of CV-QKD systems and their practical implementation.
  • Documented experience with implementation-security aspects of CV-QKD, including attacks and countermeasures.
  • Hands-on experience designing and constructing laboratory test setups for systematic evaluation of optical or CV-QKD devices.
  • Strong experience with automated measurement systems and scientific programming for data acquisition and analysis.
  • Experience developing security-evaluation methodologies and writing detailed technical reports or project deliverables.
  • Familiarity with CV-QKD standardization, certification or security-assurance activities, preferably from European collaborative projects.

Responsibilities

  • Complete experimental QKD security-evaluation activities and related documentation.
  • Develop and refine methodologies for CV-QKD security evaluation.
  • Complete experimental test stations for CV-QKD security testing.
  • Plan and perform measurements on CV-QKD components and validate procedures.
  • Develop software for automated data acquisition, processing and analysis.
  • Analyze data and assess results against security and performance criteria.
  • Evaluate vulnerabilities, attacks and countermeasures for CV-QKD implementations.
  • Prepare technical evaluation reports and deliverables.
  • Coordinate work with partners in relevant projects.
