Job summary

Zeta Global in Copenhagen, Denmark is seeking a Senior Compute Platform Engineer on the Data Platform team to build and run the data infrastructure powering Zeta's platform, including Zeta’s lakehouse platform.

The role focuses on scalable data processing with Spark/Scala, Hadoop clusters on EC2 spot instances, and collaboration with San Francisco and Berlin offices. This hybrid role is based in our Copenhagen office.

Qualifications

3+ years of software engineering experience.
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field.
1+ years of experience with Scala or other JVM-based languages.
Experience with Spark and/or other large-scale data-processing frameworks.
Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
Basic knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, Athena, etc.).

Responsibilities

Operate and implement new features in the framework and services.
Engage with data scientists to improve productivity with the framework and services.
Identify and implement computational improvements.
Submit patches to open-source projects in our stack (Spark, Iceberg, Hadoop, Airflow, etc.).
Act as an expert on Spark and Scala.
Mentor engineers and promote quality and reliability across the team.
