Job summary

John Sisk & Son Ltd seeks a Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning function on a critical data centre/mission‑critical project. You will develop the commissioning plan, schedule, and resources, ensuring safe start-up, testing, and acceptance against client criteria, coordinating with vendors and the client commissioning agent.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• At least seven years in commissioning with team leadership experience.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, sequences and integrated testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the project commissioning plan, including strategy, organisation, level definitions and documentation.
• Build and maintain the commissioning schedule; integrate with the construction program and drive readiness.
• Lead and develop the team of commissioning engineers; coordinate vendor and subcontractor resources.
• Chair commissioning meetings with construction, quality, vendors and client commissioning agent.
• Oversee development and approval of method statements, checklists and test procedures.
• Manage energisation and start-up sequence with safety permits and controls.
• Monitor test execution and ensure results are logged and reviewed in the commissioning system.
• Manage the commissioning issues log and drive closure with teams and vendors.
• Plan and lead integrated systems testing, including failure scenarios and redundancies with client and third parties.
• Ensure complete turnover packages, training and documentation for handover.
• Report progress, risks and constraints to project leadership weekly.
