Job summary

Polytech in Denmark seeks a Senior BI Developer to join our BI team and help maintain, improve, and modernize our data and analytics platform. The role focuses on supporting our Azure-based data warehouse and Power BI landscape while preparing for a transition to Microsoft Fabric and a lakehouse architecture.

You will work with business users to translate reporting needs into robust data solutions, reduce technical debt, improve data quality and performance, and help drive AI-enabled analytics

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in BI, data engineering, analytics engineering, or similar.
• Strong experience with BI and data platform technologies and data warehouse design.
• Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, or similar technologies; strong Power BI skills (DAX, Power Query) and SQL optimization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the Azure-based data warehouse and BI platform.
• Develop, optimize, and document ETL/ELT processes, data models, semantic models, and Power BI solutions.
• Support migration to Microsoft Fabric and design a scalable lakehouse architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Migrate reports and data assets in a structured, validated way; improve data quality and governance.
• Collaborate with ERP/CRM/operational systems integrations; translate reporting needs for business users.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior BI Developer to join our Business Intelligence team and help maintain, improve, and modernize our data and analytics platform.

The role will focus on supporting our existing Azure-based data warehouse and Power BI landscape while playing a key role in our transition to Microsoft Fabric and a modern lakehouse architecture.

Our BI platform supports reporting, analytics, integrations, and business applications across several markets. We are looking for a senior profile who can help improve stability, reduce technical debt, accelerate delivery, and prepare the platform for future AI-enabled use cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the existing Azure-based data warehouse and BI platform.
• Develop, optimize, and document ETL/ELT processes, data models, semantic models, and Power BI solutions.
• Support the migration from the current data warehouse architecture to Microsoft Fabric.
• Help design and implement a scalable lakehouse architecture using Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers.
• Migrate reports, models, and data assets in a structured and validated way.
• Improve data quality, performance, governance, and documentation.
• Support integrations from ERP, CRM, external sources, and operational systems.
• Work with business users to translate reporting needs into robust data solutions.
• Contribute to development standards, naming conventions, and platform best practices.
• Help simplify existing data logic and reduce technical debt.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a BI Developer, Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar.
• Strong experience with BI and data platform technologies.
• Solid knowledge of data warehouse design, dimensional modelling, ETL/ELT, and data modelling.
• Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, or similar technologies.
• Strong Power BI experience, including semantic models, DAX, Power Query, and performance optimization.
• Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing existing database logic.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.

Advantageous Experience

It is an advantage if the candidate has experience with:

• AI, machine learning, generative AI, or AI-assisted analytics.
• Agentic AI, including AI agents, workflow automation, AI orchestration, or business copilots.
• Preparing governed enterprise data for conversational BI, predictive analytics, or AI-driven business use cases.
