Job summary

Nordea is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed AI Scientist to join the Forward Deployed AI team. You will design, implement, and scale AI solutions, building agentic applications that create value across the bank while ensuring ethical and responsible development.

This full-time, permanent role offers hybrid work across multiple Nordea locations, including Helsinki, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Gdańsk/Gdynia/Warsaw.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Data Science, Statistics or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and Python proficiency; 3+ years deploying AI/ML in production.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for deploying AI/ML at scale.
• Deep understanding of ML and statistics with ability to translate business problems into modeling tasks.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale transformative AI applications from concept to production.
• Translate business problems into machine learning problem statements with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to the full modeling lifecycle: framing, hypotheses, model selection, experimentation, evaluation, iteration.
• Develop and implement agentic AI models for various business applications.
• Explore emerging AI methods and build proofs of concept for Nordea use cases.
