Job summary

The Department of Political Science at Aarhus University seeks a 12-month Research Assistant to support the project on digitalisation and political behaviour in Africa. The role involves planning and implementing work streams, with potential travel to Ghana and Malawi for data collection, and possible co-authorship on outputs.

The working language is English; Danish language skills are not required. Remote working arrangements may be possible for candidates unable to relocate to Denmark.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree completed by start date in a relevant field.
• Documented knowledge of research design in the quantitative social sciences.
• Advanced skills in R with demonstrated work (e.g., thesis or coursework).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Survey administration: liaising with survey providers and local partners to facilitate data collection and implementation.
• Data validation: cleaning and validating data, including technical checks and codebooks.
• Analysis and dissemination: preparing results for conference presentations, policy briefs, and papers.
• Desk research: carrying out literature reviews and examining publicly available data.
