Job summary

Black Pen Recruitment is assisting a leading consulting firm in Malta to hire a Data Solution Architect. The role focuses on architecting large-scale Azure Data Platforms, BI, and analytics capabilities for enterprise clients, with a strong emphasis on data governance and modelling.

The position is onsite in Malta with visa and relocation support. Candidates should have strong communication skills and a track record in data architecture, cloud solutions, and BI delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years in a similar senior role.
• Experience designing and implementing Azure data solutions with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Azure Purview.
• Understanding of Master Data Management and Data Governance.
• Familiar with CI/CD and Azure DevOps.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Willing to travel across the UK and abroad when required.
• Graduate-level education in Computer Science or a related field.
• Formal training or certifications on related technologies preferred.
• Knowledge of Common Data Models/Industry Data Models is a plus.
• Experience with OLAP and the Microsoft BI stack is helpful but not required.
• Knowledge of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end design, deployment, and delivery of Azure Data Platforms across data lakes, warehouses, data lakehouses, pipelines, BI and analytics.
• Presales, estimating and proposal writing, responding to RFPs.
• Stay up to date with new technologies and trends.
• Work with clients to develop data strategy and roadmaps, and plan delivery.
• Provide oversight and support of delivery team outputs.
• Data modelling, design, and build.
• Enforce architecture standards, policies and standards.
• Analyze and resolve issues in existing Azure Data Platforms.
• Translate business needs into reporting and data analytics functionality.
• Assist in scoping, estimation, and task planning for projects.
• Follow project plans to meet functionality, objectives and timelines.
• Provide technical architectural documents and mentor teammates.

Role overview

Our client is looking for an experienced and talented Data Solution Architect who will help to grow our data delivery team: architecting, designing and implementing large-scale Data Platform, Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics solutions for our clients.

The role is highly technical and requires a robust understanding and hands-on expertise of Microsoft Azure cloud technologies, data architecture and modelling concepts. The role also demands strong analytical, problem solving, and planning skills. The role requires strong communication and collaboration skills and the motivation to achieve results in a dynamic business environment.

Requirements:

• Microsoft Fabric
• Microsoft Power BI
• Familiar with Azure Purview
• An understanding of Master Data Management and Data Governance frameworks
