Job summary

John Sisk & Son's Denmark Data Centre team is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support commercial and construction activities, maximise returns and manage risk on complex projects.

You will prepare valuations, manage subcontractor cashflow, maintain records, and supervise junior staff while applying the Standard Method of Measurement and JCT contract knowledge.

We value accreditation, strong negotiation and reporting skills, and a proactive cost-control approach.

Qualifications

• Degree level education; working towards professional accreditation.
• Knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Letter and report writing skills.
• Negotiation skills.
• Contract value reviews (CVRs).
• 2-day safety appreciation course including contract and commercial awareness.
• CIOB membership or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tenders and analyse subcontractors.

Job description

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Data Centre team in Denmark

The Quantity Surveyor works within and assist the commercial and construction team to ensure successful project delivery while maintaining relationships, maximising commercial returns and managing risk.

• Preparing tenders, analysing and selecting subcontractors, negotiating and finalising subcontract orders.
• Managing financial and commercial aspects of subcontractors to final account completion.
• Maintaining site records and document control.
• Recording site measurements.
• Assisting with forecasts, targets and contract value reconciliations.
• Preparing valuations and variations with sufficient records and details, agreeing changes as works progress.
• Updating projected final account and submitting in a timely manner.
• Liaise with site management to influence and challenge commercial matters
• Implement commercial strategy.
• Maintain and protect John Sisk & Son commercial and contractual entitlements
• Participate in contract value reviews maintaining an independent view
• Identify and assess risks and opportunities
• Develop understanding of insurances and warranties
• Engage in cash management activities to ensure good cash flow
• Support tender processes as required
• Supervise and oversee Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, checking their work
• Maintain site records and control documents
• Apply clear written and verbal communication skills
• Effectively utilise technology platforms
• Be fully conversant with the Standard Method of Measurement
• Demonstrate commercial awareness and ownership
• Apply time management organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills
