Job summary

DTU Compute, Dynamical Systems Section, Lyngby, Denmark, invites applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position focused on software engineering for intelligent urban digital twins. You will develop standardized architectures, interoperability frameworks, and benchmarking methodologies, bridging research prototypes with real deployments and cross-sector collaborations.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in software engineering or a related field.
• Research experience in software engineering, distributed systems, edge and cloud computing.
• Strong publication record in international journals and conferences.
• Experience in collaborative national or European research projects is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to conduct independent research and deliver high-quality results on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in software engineering focused on intelligent urban digital twins, interoperability, distributed systems, and scalable architectures.
• Develop and evaluate standardized software architectures, design patterns, reference models, and interoperability frameworks.
• Design benchmark datasets, evaluation methodologies, and software quality assessment approaches for reproducible research.
• Contribute to deployment, empirical validation, and large-scale demonstrations in urban settings.
• Publish results in high-impact journals and conferences; contribute to project deliverables, reports, and dissemination activities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across academic, industry, and public-sector partners.
