Job summary

The University of Southern Denmark invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship in quantized reinforcement learning, to be filled by 1 November 2026. Located in Odense, you will work within the ADIN Lab in IMADA.

The position emphasizes theory and algorithmic development, with responsibilities including publishing at NeurIPS/ICML/ICLR, developing scalable prototypes, and contributing to teaching assistant duties.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Theoretical Physics at the time of employment.
• At least two first-author papers in flagship ML venues (NeurIPS/ICML/ICLR/AISTATS).
• Strong understanding of statistical learning theory and RL foundations.
• Proven ability to develop, debug and scale deep generative models or RL pipelines.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Develop theory and algorithms for embodied quantization in RL.
• Bridge high-capacity generative representations with discrete world models.
• Prove finite-sample or regret guarantees in non-stationary environments.
• Build scalable prototypes and benchmark across high-dimensional simulations.
• Publish at top venues (NeurIPS/ICML/ICLR/AISTATS) and perform TA duties.
