Job summary

DTU Bioengineering in Denmark seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join a hybrid experimental/computational project at the intersection of synthetic biology, metabolism and active matter physics. You will lead efforts using optogenetics, metabolic sensors and biophysical modelling to link energy flow with multicellular dynamics.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree (or equivalent) required.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and genetic engineering.
  • Excellent written and oral English; ability to mentor students and collaborate.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and optimize optogenetic gene circuits and live-cell metabolic sensors.
  • Perform metabolic phenotyping using Seahorse XF analyzers and isotopic tracing.
  • Prepare samples for omics data generation (metabolomics, transcriptomics).
  • Design 2D multicellular assays to study collective cell migration and pattern formation.
  • Conduct biophysical experiments to link metabolic states with mechanosensing.
  • Process and interpret high-resolution spatiotemporal datasets from live-cell imaging.
  • Mentor PhD, MSc and BSc students and researchers in the group.
