Aarhus University’s Department of Biomedicine invites applications for a Postdoc in Translational Neuropsychiatry, starting 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible. This fixed-term full-time appointment lasts 2 years with possible extension.

The successful candidate will conduct experiments on how emotional imbalance affects transcriptional programs and brain connectivity in rodent models, including behavioral phenotyping and evaluation of a drug candidate, with supervision from project leaders.

Qualificações

• PhD in neuroscience and experience in experimental neuropharmacology or a closely related field.
• Graduate education completed abroad.
• Solid experience with confocal and light-sheet microscopy, spatial transcriptomics, and analysis of complex molecular datasets.
• Experience conducting behavioural experiments using rodent models of depression, stress susceptibility, or resilience.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsabilidades

• Independent research of high international quality, including publication.
• Perform spatial and cell-specific profiling using RNAscope, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics.
• Design and run behavioural experiments in rodent models of depression and stress.
• Characterize neuronal networks by whole-brain imaging.
• Collaborate with project leaders in neuroscience, pharmacology and imaging.
