Job summary

SDU - University of Southern Denmark in Sønderborg invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral research associate position in Materials Chemistry. The project focuses on mixed-anion compounds and their catalytic properties for sustainable energy applications, with supervision of MSc/PhD students and collaboration with industry.

The successful candidate will conduct synthesis and characterization (XRD, XPS, SEM), contribute to publications, and help prepare project reports and proposals

Qualifications

• PhD in Materials Science, Materials Chemistry, Solid State Chemistry, or Electrochemistry.
• Hands-on experience with synthesis methods used for mixed-anion compounds.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Responsibilities

• Implement research tasks related to the Novo Nordisk Foundation project.
• Plan experiments, synthesize and characterize materials, and evaluate performance in solar water splitting.
• Analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings at seminars and meetings.
• Publish project results in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
• Supervise MSc and PhD students affiliated with SDU NanoSYD and assist in grant proposals.
