Job summary

DTU Chemical Engineering at the CHEC Research Centre invites applications for a Postdoctoral researcher to advance biomass pyrolysis and biochar research. You will conduct experimental work with laboratory-scale pyrolysis equipment, explore diverse feedstocks, and contribute to independent projects in collaboration with industry and academia.

You will supervise MSc students and potentially PhD students, publish in journals, and communicate results to industrial partners.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
  • Strong experimental background with ability to plan and conduct research independently.
  • Ability to communicate scientific results in English and collaborate with partners.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct laboratory-scale pyrolysis experiments on biomass and waste-derived feedstocks.
  • Characterize feedstocks and pyrolysis products using chemical and physical methods.
  • Investigate relationships between feedstock properties, process conditions and biochar quality.
  • Analyze experimental data and develop new experimental approaches.
  • Lead research tasks and work packages in collaborative projects.
  • Supervise MSc students and contribute to PhD supervision.
  • Publish and present results to journals, conferences and industry partners.
