Job summary

A leading engineering company is seeking an Automation Software Designer to play a crucial role in projects within the wind industry. You will be responsible for programming and setup of PLCs, HMI, and safety systems, as well as preparing essential specifications and documentation. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in automation, expertise in Siemens S7/TIA, and a flair for safety programming. This position may involve travel and demands a self-driven individual capable of leading a technical team.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of experience in automation and project work.
• Flair for safety programming on machines is an advantage.
• Knowledge of the S88 standard and experience in machine control systems.

Job description

As Automation Software Designer you will play a crucial role in projects with our global customers in the wind industry. You will be the customer’s closest sparring partner, ensuring a high technical standard that aligns with the projects, while also overseeing and coordinating the efforts in project implementation.

• act as technical key person in projects on the software side,
• prepare Functional specifications, Design specifications, and Storyboards,
• programming and setup of PLC, Safety, HMI, Servo and work with Structured Text, Ladder, Graph, Function Blocks,
• reporting / follow-up on projects,
• communicate internally with colleagues and externally with customers,
• documentation in projects and ensure product maturity on software,
• do version management and work in systems for structured task solving.

Qualifikation:

• competences within PLC/HMI and preferably Servo programming and have experience with Siemens S7/TIA,
• min 4-5 years of experience in automation and are used to working on projects. Safety programming is included on the machines, so flair for this is an advantage,
• knowledge of the S88 standard and solid experience in machine control systems,
• self-driven and capable of making decisions,
• experience in technical leadership of teams (4-7 members),
• willingness to travel for short periods (typically 1-2 weeks),

Nice to have:

• experience in the wind industry,
• experience with pneumatic-controlled systems.
