Job summary

DTU Wind and Energy Systems invites applications for a PhD project focused on quantifying wind fields in urban areas using high-detail geometry and CFD tools, with two case studies in Denmark and Poland.

You will join a collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology, work under experienced supervisors, and contribute to experiments and data evaluation as part of a three-year, full-time scholarship.

Qualifications

  • Background in applied mathematics, physics, engineering.
  • Understanding of fluid dynamics, turbulence, and boundary-layer flows.
  • Experience with programming.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across disciplines.
  • Willingness to learn new research fields.

Responsibilities

  • Design and perform CFD simulations using high-detail geometrical descriptions for urban areas.
  • Analyse datasets for validation of these simulations.
