Job summary

DTU - Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a PhD position investigating transactional vulnerability in the era of digital payments. You will conduct ethnographic fieldwork with organizations responsible for emergency payment infrastructure in Denmark.

The project sits at the intersection of organization studies, anthropology, and STS, with supervision by Sunniva Sandbukt and Helene Friis Ratner.

Qualifications

• Experience with organizational ethnography and related qualitative methods.
• Familiarity with theories from organization studies, economic anthropology, economic sociology, STS, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Danish (or other Scandinavian language) for project contexts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High degrees of independent project management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ethnographic fieldwork with organizations responsible for emergency payment infrastructure in Denmark.
• Engage stakeholders through workshops and qualitative analyses to understand transactional vulnerabilities in crises.
• Develop feasible project proposals for corresponding investigations in other Scandinavian countries.
• Collaborate with the PI and other researchers to publish findings and contribute to an emerging research agenda.
