Job summary

SDU CREATE at the University of Southern Denmark invites PhD candidates to join projects on Computational Design and Fabrication for Living System Integration in Architecture. The positions start January 2027 with a deadline of 15 October 2026, 23:59 CEST.

The research covers bioreceptive interfaces, porous mineral materials, hydrogels, and robotic 3D printing to enable living systems in regenerative architecture.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in architecture, computational design, civil or architectural engineering, or biology.
  • Experience with Grasshopper/Rhino and coding in Python or C#.
  • Strong English, written and oral.
  • Ability to operate in interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design, fabrication and validation of bioreceptive interfaces.
  • Design computational workflows and toolpaths for robotic 3D printing.
  • Collaborate with biology researchers and supervise student projects.
  • Disseminate results through publications and conferences.
