Job summary

Aarhus University invites applications for a PhD fellowship in Physical AI: Adaptive Foundation Models for Robotics within the Electrical and Computer Engineering programme. The three-year position starts on 1 January 2027 or later and is hosted by the Adaptive & Agentic AI Lab.

Candidates will pursue novel ML/vision-language-action models, world models and edge intelligence, with emphasis on publication at top venues and rigorous evaluation across simulations and robotic platforms.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, robotics, ML or related field.
• Strong foundations in ML, linear algebra, probability and optimization.
• Strong Python and PyTorch skills; substantial hands-on experience with deep-learning models.

Responsibilities

• Conduct original high-quality research in physical AI for robotics.
• Publish results at top ML/CV/robotics venues and contribute to project papers.
• Develop learning algorithms evaluated on datasets, simulation and robotic platforms.
