Job summary

Saab Danmark A/S in Denmark seeks an experienced Network Engineer to design, build and secure robust infrastructure for defence customers. You will translate customer and Saab requirements into working solutions and contribute to architecture, design documentation and hands-on development.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, IT/Network science or equivalent experience.
• Experienced Linux user with background as a network engineer or architect in complex IT infrastructure.
• Experience with Netbox is a big advantage; English proficiency is a must.
• Danish language is an advantage but not required.

Your role

You will be an integrated part of a professional and ambitious team responsible for the infrastructure and security platform for our defence customers. We provide multi-level secure platforms for the TactiCall Integrated Communication Solution for deployment on naval vessels.

The primary responsibility will be to turn customer and Saab product requirements into working solutions. Working closely together with other functions like software development, test & integration specialists and System Engineers, you will find technical solutions complying with the design strategy and best practise.

The role combines architecture and design documentation with development activities related to new technology, support to integration engineers and proof‑of‑concept projects.

Important tasks performed by the team:

• Drive standardization and technical decisions for the development of the infrastructure
• Architect networks according to the applicable functional and security requirements
• Security hardening of the IT platform
• Documentation of infrastructure design and configuration in Netbox
• Guide teams in addressing technical solutions and methods to attain the required results
• Provide solutions to complex problems occurring in network programs and projects
• Regularly inspect and work to improve current systems and procedures

Your profile

You have a proven track record in building information and network systems and are ready to take technical ownership of the network platform. You value teamwork and take commitments seriously whether it is the quality of your work, or your contribution to the team and the organisation. You like working with multiple stakeholders and have an outgoing personality who likes to share knowledge and is not afraid to ask for help.

We expect you to hold a degree within engineering, IT/Network science or a technical education with equivalent experience. You are an experienced Linux user and most likely you have worked as a network engineer or architect in a complex IT infrastructure. Experience with Netbox and automation is a big advantage, but we do not expect you to be a specialist on all aspects or tools. We work in a global environment and therefore look for candidates with various backgrounds and experiences. Understanding Danish is an advantage, but strong skills in English is a must.

Candidates must be able to obtain a security clearance by the Danish Defence Intelligence Service. This entails that candidates, as a minimum, have had residency within NATO/EU for the last 7 years.
