The role focuses on tissue regeneration, epithelial biology and IBD, with translational projects and potential teaching activities.

Qualifications

  • The applicant holds a relevant master's degree in molecular biology, biomedicine, immunology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong interest in mucosal biology, tissue regeneration and translational biomedical research.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and organoid models; familiarity with inflammation research.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good organizational skills and commitment to reproducible research and careful data handling.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain patient-derived organoids and co-culture systems with fibroblasts and immune cells.
  • Design and perform functional assays to assess epithelial regeneration and barrier function.
  • Apply molecular methods such as qPCR, immunostaining, microscopy and flow cytometry.
  • Support sample prep and workflows for single-cell and spatial omics studies.
  • Contribute to CRISPR-based genetic engineering and validate candidate pathways.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, bioinformaticians and translational researchers on project goals.
  • Maintain accurate records, analyse results and contribute to protocols and reports.
  • Present findings at group meetings and assist with manuscripts and conferences.
