Job summary

Maersk Training in Svendborg is seeking a senior Marine Engineer or Dual Officer to join our instructor team. You will share frontline vessel experience and deliver high-quality classroom and virtual training for maritime, wind, and energy industries.

This permanent role combines technical leadership with hands-on course development, simulator maintenance, and collaboration with a global team to improve safety and operational performance worldwide.

Qualifications

  • Educational background as Marine Engineer or Dual Officer.
  • Strong technical competence with demonstrated maritime experience, including sea time in a senior engine officer position (2E or CE).
  • Experience from the O&G industry, offshore industry, and/or green fuels industry is an advantage.
  • Experience from delivering training and/or developing the skills of others is desired.
  • Experience in onshore/support functions, from Vessel Management, HSE, Technical Excellence, Operations support or similar is desired.
  • Fluent in English both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality courses within the maritime, wind, and energy industry (classroom and virtual).
  • Maintain advanced simulators and develop new scenarios and exercises.
  • Ensure timely update and upgrade of courses you are responsible for.
  • Develop new courses and services to customers.
  • Monitor technology development and industry trends and share with the team and commercial teams.
  • Support sales with expert advice and technical knowledge.

Thus, we are looking for an ambitious and dynamic marine engineer or dual officer to join our instructor team in Svendborg. We are looking for a person with frontline operational experience on vessels and the potential, ability and skills to pass on experience, knowledge and competence.

Key Responsibilities
The scope will be to deliver (both classroom and virtual) and develop training within the maritime and energy industry.

You will:

  • Conduct high-quality courses within the maritime-, wind- and energy industry
  • Take part in maintaining our advanced simulators and developing new scenarios and exercises
  • Ensure timely update and upgrade of the courses you are assigned responsibility for
  • Develop new courses and services to customers
  • Keep an eye on technology development and industry trends within marine engineering, and share your knowledge with the instructor team and commercial
  • Support our sales organisation with expert advice and technical knowledge

Professional competencies required for this role
We are looking for a person that has:

  • Educational background as Marine Engineer or Dual Officer
