Job summary

ClericaPoint in Faroe Islands is seeking a skilled Fitter with experience in marine equipment. You will install, maintain and repair engines, pumps, valves, and other mechanical systems aboard vessels.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in the marine industry, strong reading of manuals and schematics, and the ability to work independently or with a team. Training and a competitive salary are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in mechanics preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Fitter in the marine industry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to read manuals and schematics.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other machinery.
• Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain various types of marine equipment including engines pumps valves and other mechanical systems
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions
• Perform regular maintenance and inspection on equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics for equipment installation and repair
• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop solutions for complex issues
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working onboard vessels
• Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used
