Job summary

Aarhus University invites applications for a full-time Researcher (Tenure Track) in Marine Ecosystem Modelling within the Department of Ecoscience. The role focuses on advancing coupled 3D models and applying them to Danish and Arctic waters, with collaboration across national and international partners.

The position starts 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter, offering career development, mentoring and access to research infrastructure. English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• PhD in biological oceanography, marine ecology, environmental sciences or similar.
• Expert knowledge on coupled 3D hydrodynamic-biogeochemical models and agent-based models.
• Very good knowledge of English (written and oral).
• Publications in high-ranking journals.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to research and advisory work for marine ecosystems.
• Develop and apply the FlexSem model system in coastal marine contexts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design scenarios for management purposes.
