The Faroe-Islands National Library is seeking a highly organized and customer service-oriented Librarian to join our team As the Librarian you will be responsible for managing the librarys collection providing reference and research assistance to patrons and overseeing daily operations

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the librarys collection including cataloging shelving and weeding
• Provide reference services to patrons by helping them locate materials answering questions and conducting research
• Develop and implement library programs and activities to promote literacy and encourage community engagement
• Supervise library staff volunteers and interns
• Maintain accurate records of library usage circulation statistics and budget expenditures
• Collaborate with other departments within the library to develop new services and improve existing ones
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in library management

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Library Science or a related field

This position is located in the beautiful Faroe Islands While preference will be given to candidates who already have authorization to work in this location we are open to sponsoring work visas for highly qualified candidates
