Job summary

Abacus Medicine Group is seeking a Legal Procurement Specialist to drive supplier negotiations across Europe. You will identify optimisation opportunities, strengthen contracts, and manage supplier governance in collaboration with Business Development, Operations, Finance and Legal.

In this role you will lead tender processes, build business cases, and translate insights into commercial solutions while navigating risk and complex supplier agreements.

Qualifications

• A relevant academic degree within Law (Cand. Jur), Business Administration and Commercial Law (Cand. Merc. Jur), or similar.
• 7+ years of experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, contract management, or related fields.
• Experience with supplier negotiations and governance in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritise commercial optimisation opportunities across supplier agreements, pricing structures, terms and models.
• Translate business needs into contractual solutions while balancing legal and commercial risks.
• Develop sourcing strategies and lead supplier negotiations, renewals and tenders.
• Build business cases and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align priorities and drive decisions.
• Evaluate suppliers, models and total cost of ownership for optimal outcomes.
• Work with Legal to assess risks and support negotiations and decisions.
• Drive initiatives from opportunity ID to value realisation.
• Support supplier governance frameworks and best practices across the Group.

Drive meaningful change

As a Legal Procurement Specialist, you will help shape how we work with suppliers across Europe. You will identify and drive commercial optimisation opportunities across our European operations while strengthening our contractual framework, supplier governance, and approach to risk management. Working closely with stakeholders across Business Development, Operations, Finance and Legal, you will translate business needs and insights into commercial and contractual solutions, support complex negotiations, and deliver tangible business outcomes and long-term value.

Your Main Responsibilities Include

• Identifying and prioritising commercial optimisation opportunities across supplier agreements, pricing structures, contractual terms, and commercial models.
• Translating business needs into contractual solutions while balancing legal and commercial opportunities and risks.
• Developing sourcing strategies and leading supplier negotiations, contract renewals, and tender processes.
• Building business cases and recommendations that support strategic decision-making and create measurable business value.
• Partnering with stakeholders across Business Development, Operations, Finance, and Legal to align priorities and drive decisions.
• Evaluating suppliers, commercial models, and total cost of ownership to secure optimal commercial outcomes.
• Collaborating closely with Legal to assess contractual and commercial risks and support negotiations and decision-making.
• Driving commercial initiatives from opportunity identification through implementation and value realisation.
• Supporting the development of supplier governance frameworks, commercial principles, and best practices across the Group.

Your Profile

You are a commercial minded legal professional who enjoys combining analytical thinking with stakeholder management and negotiations. You are comfortable challenging established ways of working, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving initiatives across multiple functions and markets.

Additionally, We Imagine That You Have

• A relevant academic degree within Law (Cand. Jur), Business Administration and Commercial Law (Cand. Merc. Jur), or a similar field.
• 7+ years of experience within strategic procurement, sourcing, contract management, or related fields.
• Experience working with transport, distribution, logistics, or similarly complex supplier-driven environments is considered an advantage.
• Solid commercial acumen with experience managing complex supplier agreements and leading commercial negotiations.
• Strong analytical capabilities with a proven ability to identify optimisation opportunities, build business cases, and translate insights into tangible business value and strategic decisions.
• Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups and balancing commercial, operational and contractual considerations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and create alignment across functions.
