Job summary

DTU Physics invites applications for a faculty position in optical quantum information at Associate Professor or Tenure Track Assistant Professor level. The position is based in the Quantum Physics and Information Technology section and at bigQ – Center for Macroscopic Quantum States, a Danish National Center of Excellence in quantum information science and technology.

Qualifications

• PhD required for the role.
• Fluent in English or Danish; at least one language fluency and ability to learn the other over time.
• Proven ability to lead and develop research programs in optical quantum information.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead an internationally visible research activity in optical quantum information.
• Publish high‑impact research at the highest international level.
• Attract external funding from national, European, and international sources.
• Contribute to the strategic development of quantum science and technology at DTU Physics.
• Supervise BSc, MSc, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.
• Contribute to research‑based teaching in quantum optics, quantum information, photonics, or basic physics courses.
• Engage with academic, industrial, and technology‑transfer partners.
• Contribute to a collegial, ambitious, and inclusive research environment.
