Job description

We are hiring a hands-on Junior DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team and build reliable, scalable systems on top of our own bare metal stack. You will be working on real infrastructure that powers a production platform 1,500+ automotive dealerships across Europe.

You will work directly with our DevOps Tech Lead to build the platform that empowers our developers to self-serve.

The Mission: Platform Engineering

We are Autoflows. We serve 1,500+ automotive dealerships across Europe, and our platform is the "nervous system" of their aftersales service. When we work, they make money. When we stop, they stop.

Unlike many SaaS companies, we are profitable. We don't rely on the next VC round to pay salaries; we rely on our product's commercial success. We are looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer who understands that shipping features pays the bills.

We believe in the Platform Engineering ethos: our developers are your customers. Your goal is to make their lives easier while "baking in" the compliance and stability we need as we scale.

  • Infrastructure as Code, Done Right:We are replacing manual, one-off server configurations with proper IaC using Terraform and Ansible. Every change is tracked, every environment is reproducible.

  • Developer Self-Service:We build pipelines and tooling that let developers ship confidently and independently, without needing to involve infrastructure for every deployment.

  • Pragmatic by Design:We run on Hetzner bare metal (EU). We default to open-source solutions on our own hardware, but we are not dogmatic - we use managed services where they genuinely save time and reduce risk.

Our Technical Focus

We have clear goals for the coming year. We are not chasing every new trend; we are building a solid foundation. Our Tech Lead owns these areas - you will contribute and learn:

  • Core Infrastructure: Maturing our Proxmox clusters and implementing a robust, segmented network architecture.

  • Data Platform:Supporting our data infrastructure work around Airflow and Medallion Architecture.

  • Future PoCs:We are exploring Kubernetes and Kafka at a proof-of-concept level.

Engineering Compliance

Compliance is something we take seriously, but we solve it with engineering rather than paperwork. As a junior, you will be exposed to this work and contribute under guidance. You will help us:

  • Test Environments:Help maintain and improve our test environments so they mirror production safely, without exposing real customer data.

  • Access Management:Support our access management setup (Keycloak) and learn how our GitOps workflows serve as an automated audit trail.

  • Security Hardening:Contribute to network segmentation and firewall configuration via IaC, learning how infrastructure can be made secure by design.

What You Will Actually Do (The Day-to-Day)
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC, learning on the job):You will write the Terraform and Ansible code that replaces manual server configurations.

  • Virtualization & Networking:You will manage Proxmox clusters and Linux environments. You will help improve our network setup, moving towards secure, segmented, and observable subnets.

  • Postgres Operations:Support our Senior DevOps in operating our self-managed PostgreSQL clusters. You will learn backup verification, basic tuning, and how to keep a production database healthy.

  • Developer Support:You will support our product teams. You don't need to write app code, but you need to understand their architecture and build pipelines to help them ship.

  • Identity & Access:You will support our access management setup, learning how authentication flows work and helping ensure the right people have the right access.

What You Bring to the Table
  • Linux Fundamentals: You are comfortable navigating Linux systems from the command line. You understand processes, permissions, filesystems, and basic networking.

  • Scripting & Automation: You know at least one scripting or programming language (Bash, Python, or similar) and you use it to automate repetitive tasks rather than doing them by hand.

  • Curiosity & Drive: You are eager to learn, ask questions, and get things done. You are not afraid to dig into unfamiliar tools or systems.

  • Pragmatic Mindset: You can accept "good enough" when the situation calls for it. You understand that perfect is the enemy of done in a fast-moving product company.

  • Team Player: You genuinely like helping people, whether that means supporting a developer with a pipeline issue or jumping in during an incident.

  • Ops Mentality: You are drawn to Ops work. You find satisfaction in systems that just work, and you take ownership when they don’t. You are more SysAdmin at heart than Developer.

  • Works Well Under Pressure: Things break in production. You stay calm, communicate clearly, and focus on resolution.

  • Comfortable asking for help and sharing what you learn - we grow as a team.

Ideally, you also have
  • Some networking experience (even basic knowledge of VLANs, firewalls, or routing).

  • Exposure to virtualization technologies (Proxmox, VMware, or similar).

  • Some exposure to containers (Docker, Podman) or basic Kubernetes concepts. We are exploring this space and it’s useful context.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.

  • A home lab or personal projects. We love people who tinker on their own time.

Note: This role is fully onsite in our Copenhagen office (Højbro Plads).

About our interview process
  1. Online or face-to-face introduction to Autoflows and you (30 minutes)

  2. Case-based interview + general knowledge with team members and CTO (1 hour)

  3. Closing talk with CEO including compensation, starting date, and all other practical details (30 minutes)
