Job summary

Cari in Måløv, Denmark, is seeking a Research Scientist (in Vitro Biological Assays). You will build engineered mammalian cell lines and cellular assays to generate robust, reproducible in vitro data guiding drug candidate selection.

You will apply molecular biology techniques including transfection, CRISPR/Cas9 editing and clonal selection across Therapeutics Discovery projects for diabetes, obesity and other chronic diseases, collaborating across teams and driving research progress.

Qualifications

• PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, pharmacology or related discipline.
• Expertise in mammalian cell culture, stable line generation, clonal isolation and characterization.
• Experience with engineered cell lines and cellular assays (reporter gene, binding, target engagement, flow cytometry, high-content imaging).
• Knowledge of assay optimisation and validation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Curiosity, proactive mindset, openness to new ideas and feedback.
• Expertise in single-cell cloning, clonal selection and genetic characterisation of KO/KI cell lines.
• Experience with automated liquid handling and high-throughput screening.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and characterise engineered mammalian cell lines for drug discovery and screening.
• Apply molecular and cellular biology techniques including transfection, viral transduction, CRISPR/Cas9 editing, and clonal selection.
• Establish robust, reproducible and fit-for-purpose cellular assays that support drug candidate identification and selection.
• Plan, prioritise and coordinate with screening, automation, in vivo pharmacology and project teams to advance cell-based models and screening strategies.
• Represent the department across a range of projects and help drive research project progression.
