Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Senior professional to lead outbound vessel procurement, securing ocean freight and vessel solutions for wind turbine components from manufacturing sites to discharge ports worldwide. You will own sourcing initiatives, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with Supply Chain across a global matrix.

The role is based in Aarhus with travel, working in an international environment to optimize capacity, terms, and performance while upholding governance and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline.
• Proven ocean freight procurement, vessel chartering, or project logistics experience.
• Solid maritime logistics understanding: vessel operations and cargo movements.
• Experience with multipurpose, heavy-lift, or breakbulk cargo is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of end-to-end outbound logistics from manufacturing sites to ports of discharge.
• Familiarity with chartering contracts, laytime, demurrage, and shipping terms.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and procurement activities for outbound vessel transportation, including chartering, liner services, heavy-lift, and breakbulk logistics solutions.
• Develop and execute sourcing, negotiation, and category strategies to secure competitive commercial terms, reliable capacity, and effective risk management.
• Negotiate and manage transportation contracts, framework agreements, and charter party arrangements while ensuring compliance with commercial and governance requirements.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with vessel owners, shipping lines, brokers, and logistics providers to strengthen supplier performance and market access.
• Monitor freight markets, vessel availability, and industry trends to provide insights and recommendations that support business and project objectives.
• Partner closely with Supply Chain and cross-functional stakeholders to align transportation solutions with project schedules, operational requirements, and business priorities.
