Job summary

NET is seeking a Manager of Portfolio Management to lead the commercial optimisation of its gas portfolio and shape the future of Physical Gas Trading. You will unite strategic leadership, quantitative analysis, and people development in a high-impact area of the energy sector.

You will drive portfolio strategy, evaluate opportunities, oversee valuation methods, and ensure decisions align with market opportunities and risk appetite. A senior commercial role within a dynamic team awaits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in energy trading or portfolio management.
• Strong understanding of physical and financial gas markets.
• Proven experience managing complex portfolios and market exposures.
• Deep knowledge of valuation methods, MTM, and risk-adjusted performance.
• Experience with hedging and optimisation of flexible energy assets.
• Leadership with a track record of developing teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the commercial performance and profitability of the gas portfolio.
• Define portfolio strategies across physical and financial gas markets.
• Optimise storage, capacity, flexibility contracts, and embedded options.
• Allocate risk capital to attractive opportunities.
• Balance short-term opportunities with long-term portfolio objectives.
• Lead positioning and exposure management across price and basis risk.
• Support decisions with quantitative and market analysis.
• Develop valuation frameworks for gas exposures.
• Evaluate performance via PnL, cash flow and risk metrics.
• Drive scenario analysis and strategic portfolio reviews.
• Lead, coach and develop the Portfolio Management team.
• Act as senior commercial counterpart within Physical Gas Trading.
• Provide strategic recommendations on positioning and investments.
• Contribute to strategic direction of Physical Gas Trading.
