Job summary
Dealflow - Invoicing is seeking a senior backend engineer to translate requirements into scalable systems for an invoicing platform used by SMBs. You will design robust data models, implement secure payment and reconciliation flows, and own API design while collaborating across product and security groups.
You should bring 4+ years Python and AWS experience, familiarity with banking and accounting integrations, Stripe, CI/CD, tests, and strong attention to performance.

- Experience with payment gateways like Stripe and backend architectures.

- Translate technical requirements into detailed backend designs that creates tier 1 scalable systems and a joyful experience for the customer.
- Be responsible for driving innovation, maintainability, improving performance, scalability, and creating headless systems under strict timelines.
- Lead backend engineering and solve complex problems such as:
- Ensuring optimal schema design, 100% uptime and high-end security.
- Credit scoring system what's the best way to gamify the credit scoring experience for our customers while ensuring a high ROI on lending bets?
- Invoice matching algorithm what's the optimal way to match invoices to deposits accurately at scale when we lack information?
- Payment orchestration how can we best optimise our payment orchestration to lower our costs and increase our margins?
- Analytics system how can we set up an analytics system that tracks all relevant numbers?
- Integrate our technology with the following external systems:
- Payment processors like Stripe.
- Open banking platforms like Plaid.
- Accounting systems like QuickBooks and Economic

- Experience in python (4+ years)
- Experience in AWS ecosystem (4+ years)
- Experience with banking integrations (1+ years). Not required but valued.
- Experience with accounting integrations (1+ years). Not required but valued.
- Experience with payment gateways and processors like Stripe (1+ years)
- Experience with backend development and different technologies (MQ's, cache's, architectural patterns, etc..)
- Experience with writing tests (Unit / Integration / Performance)
- Hands on with performance and optimisation problems and demonstrated ability to diagnose and prevent these problems.
- Extreme attention to detail, obsession for scalable systems
- Hands-on with CI/CD
- We use GitHub Actions, AWS code deploy
- Working knowledge of cyber security
- Experience with postman
- Salary: Starting at €5000 / month. Includes serious warrants 1 - 7%, depending on the match. Clear timeline to promotion / cash and equity bonuses.
