Job summary

Koda Tech is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer in Copenhagen to own AI agent deployments end to end. You will work directly with customers to understand workflows, build and deploy agents into their systems, and iterate until value is delivered in production.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on shaping and shipping the product with real customers, not a sales position. Expect collaboration with IT admins and CEOs, and a fast-paced startup environment in a new central Copenhagen office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience across backend, APIs, data pipelines and system integration.
• Hands-on experience shipping production AI agents.
• Fluency with Python, TypeScript/Vue, Go, and cloud/datastore stacks.
• Able to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Early-stage startup experience is a plus; Danish language skills are nice to have.

Responsibilities

• Own agent deployments end to end from scoping to production validation.

Our client is a venture-backed, early-stage AI startup based in Copenhagen, building agentic AI systems that automate the operational work that piles up in business email inboxes - think order processing, supplier communication and other repetitive back-office tasks. Their customers span production companies, distributors and product brands, mostly in traditional, conservative industries. The founding team previously built and scaled a successful HR/payroll startup, and the company is backed by well-known European and US venture funds. The team is currently five people, on-site five days a week in a new office in central Copenhagen, and growing.

About the Role

They are hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer: a customer-facing builder who owns AI agent deployments end to end. You will work directly with customers to understand their workflows, build and deploy agents that plug into their existing systems (email, ERP, etc.), and iterate quickly until the agent reliably delivers value in production. This is not a sales role - it is a hands-on technical role focused on shaping and shipping the product together with real customers.

Responsibilities

• Own agent deployments end to end - from scoping a customer's workflow to building, integrating and validating the agent in production
• Build backend services, APIs and data pipelines that connect email, ERP and other business systems into agent workflows
• Design and ship production-grade AI agents with proper evaluation and guardrails, not just LLM calls wrapped around a UI
• Work directly with customer stakeholders, from IT admins to CEOs, to refine requirements and resolve issues quickly
• Feed learnings from deployments back into the core product
• Take ownership of what you build and maintain it over time, including dealing with the consequences of your own decisions

What They're Looking For

• 3+ years experience as a strong generalist across backend, APIs, data pipelines and system integration - someone who delivers whole features, not fragments
• Hands-on experience shipping production AI agents (not just LLM wrappers)
• Experience with some of: Python, TypeScript/Vue, Go, GCP, Postgres, Neo4j, LangChain (fluency across the whole stack is not required)
• A pragmatic builder mindset - ships incrementally and balances ideal vs. practical solutions
• Genuine early-stage experience - has been a founder or an early engineer at a small startup, and is comfortable with ambiguity and no playbook
• Motivated by solving real, often unglamorous operational problems - not just by working with the newest models
• High energy and comfortable operating at startup pace
• Credible and confident communicator who can talk to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Nice to have: domain exposure to supply chain, logistics, ERP or B2B commerce, and Danish language skills
