Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking a Field Service Technician (Controls) to service Wenger Equipment across global customer sites. You will build and troubleshoot PLC programs, diagnose issues, and ensure systems run at peak performance.

The role requires extensive travel (approximately 50%), a technical background, and experience with Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLCs, ControlLogic, RSVIEW3, and FactoryTalk SE/ME. You will collaborate with customers and peers to deliver reliable, high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Technical background or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley PLC.
• Knowledge of ControlLogic, RSVIEW3, Factory Talk SE/ME.
• Experience servicing, maintaining, or commissioning complex machinery or capital equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and hands-on approach.
• Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
• Willingness to travel globally (approximately 50%).
• Flexibility to work weekends.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for the position of Field Service Technician (Controls) for our Wenger Equipment. In this position you will be responsible for servicing our Wenger Equipment. In this role you will ensure our systems operate at peak performance. You’ll represent JBT Marel with professionalism, flexibility, and dedication.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and troubleshoot PLC programs.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Must be familiar with a variety of extruder/dryer processes and procedures relating to electrical and PLC matters.
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks including leading and directing operators and other Technicians.
• Other duties as assigned.

About You

You are a skilled service technician with expertise. You thrive on solving technical challenges in the field, are comfortable traveling extensively, and can adapt to diverse customer environments globally. You’ll bring:

• A technical background (education or equivalent experience)
• Experience with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley PLC
• Knowledge in ControlLogic, RSVIEW3, Factory Talk SE & ME.
• Experience servicing, maintaining, or commissioning complex machinery or capital equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a hands‑on approach.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong customer relationships.
• A proactive and independent mindset, with the ability to work as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and passport, with willingness to travel globally (approximately 50%).
• Flexibility to work weekends as required.
