Job summary

Terma Group is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to evolve our internal developer platform, driving tooling, architecture, deployment, and DevSecOps across defense and aerospace domains. You’ll join a collaborative DevSecOps team of six professionals, delivering CI/CD automation and infrastructure as code, with on-premise, secure, scalable systems at Terma.

Qualifications

• Strong scripting in Python, Bash, and YAML.
• Hands-on containerization with Docker and Podman.
• Extensive CI/CD, DevSecOps, and GitOps experience.
• IaC and Config as Code with Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab CI.
• Cloud-native mindset focused on scale, resiliency, and security.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize core platform services for secure development workflows.
• Automate provisioning of compliant developer environments and pipelines.
• Maintain and evolve the platform with Kubernetes, Ansible, GitLab CI, Jenkins, SonarQube.
• Advocate cloud-native and GitOps principles, driving automation and scaling.

As we expand to meet new global challenges, we’re looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to help us evolve the infrastructure that powers secure, scalable, and high-impact software solutions across the defense and aerospace domains.

Your role in our team

As part of our platform modernization journey, you'll play a key role in shaping the next generation of Terma’s internal developer platform – from tooling and architecture to deployment and DevSecOps practices. This is a hands‑on engineering role where your contributions will directly impact developer experience and operational effectiveness across the company.

You will join a growing, collaborative DevSecOps team of six professionals known for their technical expertise, knowledge sharing, and good humour. Together, you’ll enable dynamic development environments and modern CI/CD pipelines through automation, infrastructure-as-code, and security best practices.

How you will make a meaningful contribution

• Design, build, and optimize core platform services to support secure development workflows
• Automate provisioning of compliant developer environments and deployment pipelines
• Maintain and evolve the platform using tools such as Kubernetes, Ansible, GitLab, Jenkins, and SonarQube
• Advocate for cloud‑native and GitOps principles, driving best practices in automation and scaling
• Help shape the future of our internal developer platform, contributing ideas, best practices, and architecture decisions
• Contribute to team learning by sharing knowledge through documentation, code reviews, and learning sessions

Bring your world class expertise into play

• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and YAML
• Hands‑on knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker, Podman)
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, and GitOps methodologies
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code practices (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, GitLab CI) and automation
• A cloud‑native mindset, emphasizing scalability, resilience, and security

Preferred but not required qualifications

• Experience designing or operating on‑premise infrastructure and self‑hosted systems (e.g., GitLab, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with tools such as Gerrit, Jenkins, Nexus, and SonarQube
• Comfortable working in Linux‑based environments, including shell scripting and troubleshooting
• Basic understanding of networking and system administration concepts (e.g., DNS, firewalls, certificates, reverse proxies)
• Previous work in regulated or high‑security environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

While we adopt a cloud‑native approach, all infrastructure at Terma is hosted on‑premise. We do not use public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure), and familiarity with self‑managed environments is a strong advantage.
