Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka, REST APIs and JPA.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, Jenkins and OAuth2.
• Experience with MSSQL and building financial services.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services using Java/Spring Boot and Kafka integrations.
• Collaborate with business experts and other engineers in an Agile environment.
• Manage design to production, including operations and on-call support during working hours.
• Mentor peers and act as a technical sparring partner within the DW area.
• Maintain and improve existing codebase to keep it healthy and up-to-date.

About our team

We are working close together with our colleagues in Group Digital. We are situated in the Nordic, Poland and Mumbai. This position is based in Copenhagen.

We add value by providing various financial services such as pension management, security trading and more for both private customers and businesses within Nordea’s netbank.

Our products enable customers to manage & invest pension & free assets into financial markets by trading stocks, bonds, ETF´s and other financial instruments. We track performance on portfolios, provide insight to financial markets, giving online advice and guidance, allowing customers to set goals and order the products they need. You will be able to work on a large technology stack where primary elements are Java(20+), latest Spring Boot, JPA and Kafka solutions together with a dedicated team of developers in our HQ (Metro) in Copenhagen.

What you’ll be doing

• Work with latest Java technologies with integrations to legacy systems, domain API´s, Kafka topics, databases and 3th party suppliers.
• Working close with dedicated and skilled business experts and enjoy the support of great colleagues with many years of experience developing financial services.
• Work with the development stages, from design to production. Also operation and support tasks will occur inside normal working hours.
• Act as a technical sparring partner not only within team but also within the whole DW area.
• We take full responsibility for what we develop and run., So maintaining existing code base, keeping it in a good shape and up to date, is also essential part of your work.

Your background and skills include:

• 8+ years of experience working in backend engineering, with expert knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST, Kafka, JPA
• A understanding of GIT, Jenkins, CI/CD, OAuth2, MSSQL, Unit testing and the ecosystem around microservices

It would be ideal if you also:

• Experience working with Angular, Wicket, Elasticsearch
