Job description

Electronics Engineer for quantum technology development

Are you passionate about electronics development for quantum technology products and research projects, which eventually contributes to both industry and society? Join us at DFM, where we are seeking a new team member with experience in electronics.

The position

Over the past 5 years DFM has been expanding the activity in metrology for quantum technology to address new metrology needs. We work to a large extent with self-developed setups and techniques, and with proprietary signal processing. For this reason, it is important that you master designing and implementing electronics that is an integral part of complex but highly reliable systems.

The focus areas in this position are FPGA/VHDL design, microcontrollers and their interfaces, signal conditioning, schematic design and layout, and testing.

You will be part of DFM's quantum metrology team, which currently consists of 9 researchers. The team works with metrology for various fields within quantum communication and sensing. Many of the activities take place in close collaboration with universities and companies through national and international research projects. The right candidate thrives on handling multiple tasks and participating in different projects at the same time.

Your design and implementation tasks will support ongoing quantum product development, and you will participate as an electronics engineer in several projects. Your role in these projects will depend on your specific competences.

Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • odesign and implementation of electronics, and with design for manufacturing
    • oschematic design and layout, preferably in KiCad
    • oFPGA design using VHDL, and with microcontrollers
    • odesign for DC through RF, with data acquisition, with design for low noise and signal integrity, and with design for EMI/EMC
    • odesigning and building both prototypes and reliably operating systems
    • otests driven by purpose, requirements and compliance
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Good collaboration skills, high commitment and the ability to thrive on challenges
  • Good communications skills, in Danish and/or English
  • You are purposeful, quality-conscious, and solution-oriented
  • You have an eye for entrepreneurship and is constructive with new ideas and insights
We offer

An international and dynamic working environment where there are excellent opportunities for professional and personal development in collaboration with highly qualified and committed colleagues. The work at DFM lies at the crossroads between universities, companies and international research collaborations with other countries' national metrology institutes.
