Job summary

atNorth is seeking an Electrical SME to lead the electrical engineering of our data centre portfolio across the Nordics. You will act as the technical authority for electrical systems and critical power infrastructure, guiding design, delivery and operations with engineering integrity and reliability.

The role requires a decade of experience in mission-critical environments, strong stakeholder management, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years in electrical engineering, critical infrastructure or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience delivering data centre engineering projects with LV/MV, UPS, generators, batteries, protection systems.
  • Fluent English and willingness to travel across the Nordic region.

Responsibilities

  • Act as technical authority for electrical designs, specs, standards and procedures.
  • Provide leadership across LV/MV distribution, UPS, generators, batteries, protection, and controls.
  • Support design reviews, commissioning, and technical handovers for operational readiness.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards and procedures across Nordic sites.
  • Collaborate with Design, Development and Operations to integrate new infrastructure.
  • Lead investigations and root-cause analyses of electrical incidents.
  • Advise internal stakeholders, clients, consultants, and vendors on electrical issues.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and innovations in critical power systems.
  • Drive training and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Support asset lifecycle planning and resilience improvements.

Are you a seasoned electrical engineering expert with a passion for delivering and operating world-class data centre infrastructure? At atNorth, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of sustainable, high-performance data centres across the Nordics. As the technical authority for electrical systems and critical power infrastructure, you will provide expert guidance across both project delivery and operations, ensuring technical excellence, engineering integrity, and operational reliability throughout the asset lifecycle.

This is a unique opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with strategic influence, working closely with Operations, Design, Development, and industry-leading specialists to drive innovation in one of the fastest-growing sectors in Europe.

Key responsibilities:
  • Act as the technical authority and signatory for electrical engineering designs, calculations, specifications, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Provide expert leadership across critical electrical infrastructure, including LV and MV distribution systems, UPS systems, generators, batteries, protection systems, and associated controls.
  • Support design reviews, engineering assurance, commissioning activities, and technical handovers to ensure operational readiness and long‑term reliability.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, technical specifications, operational procedures, and best‑practice frameworks across atNorth's Nordic data centre portfolio.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Development, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructure and effective transition into operations.
  • Lead technical investigations, troubleshooting efforts, and root‑cause analyses for complex electrical incidents and performance issues.
  • Serve as the primary electrical engineering advisor for internal stakeholders, clients, consultants, and vendors.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry developments, supporting innovation within critical power systems and data centre infrastructure.
  • Drive training, technical mentoring, and knowledge sharing across operational and engineering teams to strengthen capability and consistency.
  • Support asset lifecycle planning, maintenance strategies, resilience improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives across the portfolio.
Your profile:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, critical infrastructure, or mission‑critical environments, including progression into senior technical leadership roles.
  • Extensive experience delivering data centre engineering projects, with deep expertise in critical electrical infrastructure, including LV and MV distribution, UPS systems, generators, batteries, protection systems, and power quality management.
  • Strong understanding of commissioning, system integration, operational readiness, maintenance strategies, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience acting as a technical authority, reviewing and approving engineering designs, technical documentation, specifications, and operational standards.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • A collaborative and solutions‑oriented mindset, combined with the confidence to challenge, influence, and drive high engineering standards across multiple sites, projects, and regions.
  • Experience with data centre resilience, redundancy concepts, and critical power infrastructure is considered an advantage.
  • Fluent English and willingness to travel across the Nordic region as required.
