Job summary

BEC is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Enterprise Data Management – Data Governance team in Denmark. You will help establish and operationalize governance across BEC's data ecosystem, improving transparency of data assets, metadata, lineage, and critical data elements.

You will collaborate with data architects, engineers, product teams, and data stewards to implement technical capabilities that enhance data quality and trust. Remote work is available up to 8 days per month.

Qualifications

• Experience with data engineering, metadata management, data lineage, or related data management disciplines.
• Strong analytical skills across complex data landscapes including processes, apps and data platforms.
• Experience with SQL and data analysis; interest in Data Governance and Data Architecture; collaboration with architects, engineers, product teams, and stakeholders.
• Curious and proactive mindset to improve transparency, trust, and usability of data.
• Fluent English communication, written and spoken.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools (e.g., M365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot) to improve productivity.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data quality measurements and controls for critical data assets.
• Configure and enhance Data Governance tooling to support target data architecture and operating model.
• Establish transparency of data assets, metadata, lineage, authoritative sources, and Critical Data Elements across platforms.
• Develop reporting and dashboards showing data management capabilities, adoption, and progress.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Engineers, Product Teams, and Data Stewards to improve data quality and trust.
